i'm pink on the inside
carnation
bubble gum
salmon
tickle me
pink, pink, pink
but i'm blue too
dodger
cerulean
navy
blue.
my heart is red
and my bones are white
in the mind of a five year old
everything is a color from a crayola crayon 64 pack
you can color anything in the world
with one of those colors
but can you color hurt?
can you color despair?
can you color the things the world sweeps under the carpet
and pretends isn't there
color me pink.
from head to toe
pink is happy, giggly, girly and bright
pink will keep you safe and warm, wrapped up in your blankets at home
but what about macaroni and cheese?
what about purple mountain magesty?
are they valuable colors as well?
i hope so.
because in a world of so many shades of hate
i can pretend
that my unicorn of love and peace
can come and take me away
to a world of pink.
